The Movement's Children

a new play commission by Amina Henry

Directed by Michole Biancosino

June 16th at 7pm

Theatre Lab in the Atelier

The Movement's Children tells the story of  the 1963 Alabama children's march, a key event in the American civil  rights movement that led to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Accompanied by  poetry and song, this play leads us through several days in May 1963  when thousands of Birmingham children left their schools and took to the  streets to protest segregation, highlighting the bravery of children  willing to go to jail in order to obtain their freedom.

Featuring: Chloe Kaitlyn Brown, Jordan Henry, Donathan Arnold, and Dylan Jackson
